PEOPLES ATTITUDE:

The population of Wayanad, as per the census of 2011, is 8,16,558. The original inhabitants of Wayanad are the various tribal people or Adivasis staying here. The main tribes here include Kattunaikar, Adiyars, Kurumas, Paniyas and Kadans. Many of them are believed to know secret remedies to diseases like diabetes and cancer with medicinal herbal plants. Over the years, people from different parts of Kerala have come and settled in Wayanad. They tend to dress in traditional attire and depend on agriculture for their livelihood.
